Our Mission The mission of SASS is to educate Licking County on the importance of early detection as a key to breast cancer survival and provide those diagnosed with breast cancer the assistance to maintain and improve their quality of life. For information contact SASS program coordinators Medha Sutliff or Mary Richardson at (740) 349-6535 About Breast Cancer An estimated 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States during 2007. An estimated 40,460 women will die from breast cancer. It is estimated that 2,030 men will be diagnosed and 450 men will die of breast cancer during 2007. In addition to invasive breast cancer, 62,030 new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2007. Of these, approximately 85 percent will be ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). For information of getting a free Mammogram click here. Breast Cancer in Licking County Each year an average of 98 Licking County residents are diagnosed with breast cancer. In the same year, 26 Licking County residents will die as a result of breast cancer. You can reach us at (740) 349-6535 or E-mail us   Pink Strides Run/Walk  5th annual Pink Strides Trail Run & Wellness Walk - Saturday, October 20, 2012 Fifth Annual Pink Strides Trail Run & Wellness Walk! The 5k (3.1 mile) course will be throughout the Infirmary Mound Park on maintained natural trails; terrain is mostly flat with a few hills. Dress for the weather; a rainy day will make for a muddy run. Proceeds from this event will provide mammograms for qualifying Licking County women through SASS (Screening & Survivor Support) for Breast Cancer in Licking County. Proceeds will also provide wellness programming for Licking County residents through We’re Active Licking County (WALC). Fundraisers and Events Spring into Pink 2012 The Licking County Health Department's Screening and Survivor Support (SASS) Program hosted Spring Into Pink! 2012 on Thursday, April 26th. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pelotonia, Tom Lennox was our featured speaker!  Photos are available here! Central Garage in Pataskala raised  $935 to support SASS during February of 2012! Moundbuilders Country Club for the Cure 2011. Our annual MCC for the Cure events were a great success with all proceeds donated to PHP/SASS.  This event raised just over $28,000!
